In many countries, this data has historically been incomplete or fragmented. By combining government datasets, satellite imagery and AI-assisted mapping, Giga creates a single, trusted foundation for decision-making.
By 2025, more than 2.2 million schools had been mapped globally, including official government datasets in 54 countries, giving Governments a shared reference point for planning and investment.
In countries where data gaps exist, Giga is actively improving accuracy. In Colombia, AI models identified 7,000 previously unrecorded schools. In Sudan, mapping corrections improved the geolocation of 20,000 schools.
This level of visibility allows Governments to prioritize investment, coordinate across sectors, and integrate school connectivity into national infrastructure planning.
