Giga Photo Festival Awards Ceremony and Exhibition

The Giga Photo Festival Awards Ceremony will take place on 12 June 2025 at the Kiosque des Bastions in Geneva. Organized by UNICEF and ITU through the Giga initiative, the event celebrates the conclusion of the global photo contest “The Joy of Connection”, which launched in April 2025 and received submissions from around 80 countries. The contest invited photographers to reflect on the impact of being connected, with judging led in collaboration with HEAD–Genève, engaging both professional and student jury members.
The ceremony will highlight the winning entries and officially launch the Giga Photo Festival’s yearbook and photo zine catalogue. The event will feature remarks from the Canton of Geneva, UNICEF, and ITU leadership, speeches from the winners across three contest categories, and a guided tour of the outdoor exhibition. Held alongside the exhibition of winning photographs at Parc des Bastions and Plainpalais (2–30 June), the ceremony also reinforces Giga’s commitment to digital inclusion and positions Geneva as a center for global conversations on connectivity.
