Where We Work

Giga works with governments worldwide to strengthen the systems that enable school connectivity and digital inclusion. Through the combined networks of UNICEF and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Giga supports national planning efforts helping governments map schools, analyse infrastructure, model costs, and design financing and contracting strategies that make connectivity affordable and sustainable.

Our collaboration spans Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, engaging ministries of education, ministries of ICT, ministries of finance, ICT regulators, and industry partners to align data, policy, and investment around shared connectivity goals.

By combining UNICEF’s reach in education and country programme implementation with ITU’s leadership in telecommunications policy and regulation, Giga helps governments integrate school connectivity into broader national digital strategies and infrastructure planning.

Through initiatives such as the Government Exchange Programme, Giga also creates spaces for countries to share lessons, test approaches, and build the institutional capacity needed to scale connectivity sustainably.
